More than fifteen years of experience teaching and performing around the world. Best Teacher Award, "Assai!" Performance Institute - Millersville University, PA (2012) Boston University - President's Scholarship and Dean's Scholarship for five years. Multiple competition and performance awards. Active performer/soloist in the Boston area and US.
I have a Master's degree in viola performance from University of Maryland, and a Bachelor's of Music from Indiana University. As a multi-faceted musician, I have taught students of all ages and performed in chamber music ensembles and orchestras in Indiana, Tennessee, and all over the east coast in venues such as the Kennedy Center in D.C., the Levitt Pavilion in Westboro, Conn., and Spectacle Island in the Boston Harbor. I am also passionate about international travel and collaboration- in 2013 and 2014 I traveled to teach and perform in San Salvador, El Salvador as part of a fellowship with the non-profit MusAid. Teaching is a very important part of my life and career, as I consider it to be the most valuable way to connect with others and work with children and adult students to develop a joy and passion for music.
I teach traditional and Suzuki methods.
My goal is to help students in making beautiful sound on a challenging string instrument. Depending on the student's age and level I apply personalized teaching approach. My youngest students show the best progress through the rhythmical musical activities; whereas for older students, along with individual training, I employ intensive exposure to ensemble atmosphere.
I cater each lesson to each individual students needs. The thing that I love about teaching private lessons is that each and every student is different. Whereas with group and classroom teaching, you try to make each student fit the mold, private students, I try to fit YOUR mold! What makes you tick? What is your passion? What drove you to want to learn your instrument? Who inspires you? I look forward to learning all these things and MORE about you! I teach students of any age, there is no minimum or maximum! Anyone can have a passion for music, and it is never too late!

When lessons begin, students will need to acquire a viola. While most adults will start on a standard full size viola, many children will start with a smaller model. As a child grows, the instrument will need to grow with them, which makes renting an instrument a great option. Any music store staff, or teacher in our network will be able to help you in deciding the right size instrument for the student. Renting can be done on a monthly basis, and allows for less of a financial commitment.
Each student has a different preference when it comes to learning, and as a result the structure of the lesson will vary from student to student. Each teacher works to tailor their lesson plans around each students' specific needs and goals, all while teaching them important aspects of their instrument. Students will learn how to read music, develop musicianship, and proper technique. No two lessons will be the same as all students have different strengths and goals. If the student has a particular style or method in mind, Musika will make a match to a teacher that will be able to accommodate those needs.
Young students will learn all aspects of playing their new instrument. All children will begin to read music, and learn how to handle their instrument properly, as well as start to learn about harmony and rhythm. Violas are a small instrument that can be comfortable for little hands. While most adults will play on a standard full size, the viola also comes in smaller sizes and the teachers in our network will be able to assist you on choosing the correct one.
It is never too late to start a new instrument, we have many successful adult students who have started lessons on an instrument they have always wanted to play. With our convenient in home lessons, adult students can work around their busy schedules and take lessons tailored, by the teachers in our network, for their skill level and personal goals.
Having lessons in your home can be a very convenient way to introduce music into your busy schedule. You will save time and money on travel, and will be able to have lessons whenever your schedule allows it. By choosing in home lessons, you are able to learn the instrument in a familiar setting, while learning the same things you would normally learn during an in-studio lesson.

Andrew is very encouraging and uplifting, but also isn't afraid to tell you your weaknesses. Andrew also is super awesome with scheduling. Fits around your schedule all the time. He really knows what he is doing and can help you reach your goal in the time you would like to. Couldn't have gotten a better teacher, who continually helps me grow and pushes me.

I am a beginning guitar player that has now taken five lessons with Jeff. I cannot speak highly enough of Jeff has a guitar teacher! I have learned more in five lessons than the months I spent trying to learn on my own. Jeff has introduced me to music apps that I can use during my practice sessions, followed up our lessons with comments and/or music, is very encouraging - yet holds high standards. During my lessons I feel that Jeff is very observant and tuned in to your positioning when playing - whether it be your wrist, your arm, or your fingers. He always offers recommendations on ways to try to fix something that I might be struggling with. He really pays attention. As an aside, Jeff is a very talented songwriter and musician. Check him out on YouTube. His songs are very beautiful and inspirational. I'm honored to be his student! - Linda

Rebecca has been super with my son! He is 8yrs old and has mild aspergers. He has never played an instrument before but after one lesson with his teacher he could keep a beat on his drums. She is able to keep his attention and really makes it fun! She is flexible and easy going. I highly recommend her for any lessons. Very nice teacher! Thank you Rebecca for your outstanding service!!

Eduard is an amazing teacher. (Coming from someone who previously knew the basics of playing and music.) He is not to harsh with his words and is extremely nice. Eduard has a great amout of experience and displays it through his teachings. Specifically by making it easy to follow along with his words to actions. As a person with a wondering mind whom is distracted easily, it is easy to pay attention.

I started my 5 yr old daughter with Karleen this Fall. Karleen has a calm and honest disposition. My daughter adores her and cannot wait for her arrival. I was concerned because my daughter is not so willing to "practice" during the week. Karleen advised me to allow her habits of practicing to evolve naturally as her love and understanding of piano increases. She emphasized how nurturing my daughter's love of music is most important. This was music to my ears :)

Unbelievably Awesome. My daughter is a beginner and has some special needs. Justin is more than patient and helpful while being completely thorough and pushing her (in a good way) to try harder. He is encouraging and teaches effectively. I am very pleased. More important, so is my daughter. Thank you Musika! So grateful we found your service and connected with Justin. We highly recommend him.

Stephanie is an excellent voice teacher! Our 10-year-old daughter enjoys her lessons with Stephanie each week. She has an amazing way of connecting with our daughter through music. Stephanie knows how to offer constructive feedback in a positive way that keeps our daughter interested and wanting to learn more. I would recommend Stephanie without hesitation.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
