In 2010, I performed in the Eutiner Festspiele in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany as principal horn, performing operas and symphonic works. In 2012 in Prague, Czechia, my chamber group won second prize at the Ameropa International Concertante Competition with Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for Four Winds in E-flat major, K. 297b. That same summer, I was accepted into the Colorado College Music Festival with full scholarship. I've had over nine years of trumpet playing experience, three years of euphonium/baritone experience, and four years of tuba experience. I've taught many students in a formal and informal setting, from one on one sessions to group sessions ranging from two to eight students. I find teaching to be fulfilling and educational for both the student and myself. Throughout his teaching career, Jamie has also participated in many performance and recording projects both as band leader of The Rift, a guest, and a solo artist. During the school year 2016 - 2017 he was a Show Director for the School of Rock - Mamaroneck. Most recently he designed, produced, and taught residencies, culminating concerts, and family workshops for LEAP NYC as a Teaching Artist. In my methods of teaching I typically like to focus on what the students want to get better at while also incorporating fundamentals and good habits. I feel that this gives the student the ability to choose what they want to do as well as my chance to show them the right way to learn it and create good habits while playing the instruments.
