I'm a patient and caring individual who believes in giving back to the community because the community has given me so much. I enjoy playing and teaching music more than anything. I've had the opportunity of learning from many great teachers in the state of North Carolina, and have had the privilege of being a part of groups such as the ECU Wind Ensemble, ECU Marching Pirates, ECU Trumpet Ensemble and several other quality groups.
I'm a passionate instructor with a love for music. I enjoy sharing my experience with students and especially like seeing them excel on their instruments. I have performed all over the US as well as Canada, Mexico, and Italy. Sharing the stage with grammy award winners and have been in opening bands for over 20 top-40 acts. My experience is definitely an asset. I specialize in Blues, Jazz, Rock, and Pop.
I am an aspiring trumpet performer looking to continue my education in this field through private study and teaching. In May, 2015, I graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance. Since then I have been performing in weddings and local performances as I temporarily settle in Durham, NC. My goal is to become a professor of music with a focus in classical trumpet performance. I've had the opportunity to perform with many ensembles in the past four years in varying capacities and difficulties.
I fell in love with classical music while watching Leonard Bernstein conduct the NY Philharmonic as a young boy.In 1979 I graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a BA in Trumpet Performance and Psychology. For the past 40 plus years I have taught music to children and adults in school and church settings, and at a performing arts center. I currently volunteer teach children how to play the trumpet before family concerts with the NC Symphony.

The teachers in our network can create a custom lesson and technique plan for each student. For the most part, lessons will focus on learning how to hold and care for the instrument, and prepare it for playing. Students will also focus on mouth position, breath support and the location of the valves. Sight reading along with music theory will also be taught.
Adult trumpet lessons will provide technique on the instrument. Students can expect to learn a lot within the first few weeks of lessons. Teachers will encourage students to practice the trumpet every day for the most progress.
A trumpet has several parts: the rim, the cup, the mouthpiece, the shank, the lead pipe, the valve, and the valve casings. Make sure all the parts of the trumpet are in good condition. If you're unfamiliar with the instrument it's best to ask an expert or a store employee. Prices for trumpets can vary so it is important to have a budget in mind when shopping around. Usually students will rent the instrument for some time before purchasing. When trying out trumpets many students chose to bring their own mouthpiece, as this is the most personal part of the trumpet.
Children are recommended to start the trumpet at age 7 or 8. A student needs to be able to hold and support the weight of the instrument for extended periods, and have enough lung capacity to support the sound as well.
Taking trumpet lessons in your home offers a great way to master your skills on the instrument in a comfortable and familiar setting, Many students and parents find this very convenient as there is no additional time for travel.

Caitlyn is friendly, helpful and still holds my high-school aged daughter accountable for practicing. She also makes sure the music technique is mastered correctly during the lessons - they work hard and still have a good time together. I can highly recommend her as a flute teacher. My daughter is very happy & grateful to have found Caitlyn as a teacher.

“Lynn has taught my daughter guitar for 9 years. She has always managed to keep her engaged and provide an exceptional learning experience. She tailors the lesson specifically to the student’s interests and abilities. She provides many opportunities for students to showcase their talents outside of lessons. We love working with Lynn.” Maureen Young, Dir. of Finance, Aug 2015

Our daughter has only been playing the piano since March. Tony replaced our other teacher who had a job transfer and could no longer teach. Tony is fun and encouraging. My daughter is playing Taylor Swift and Christmas songs and is playing the piano more than ever before. Very happy so far with Mr Tony

Mrs. Regnarene is an awesome teacher!!! She found musical aids that appealed to my 5 year old daughter and used them to help teach her piano. She has a lot of patience and I could tell she puts in the work before class to have a lesson ready for my daughter. She is always punctual, friendly and respectful. I would recommend her to any parents who want to start their kids off with a good foundation in piano. Jermain T. Riverview, FL

Mr. Lou M. is a God-send! With the various needs that our organization requires from our education partners in order to provide enrichment services to our students, Mr. Lou M. has always gone above and beyond in meeting all of those needs. Our students are learning, our caregivers are happy and satisfied, and we couldn't be more pleased with his performance.

She is amazing! My daughter, Isabella (7 yrs) is totally engaged in the lesson. Lilly's definitely has a gift with teaching young children!!! A great talent of hers is making the content interesting, current to today's music and most of all fun! She has a knack for taking the material and translating it in a way that is relatable to Isabella. My daughter really enjoys her lesson's and has moved along rather quickly with the material. Thanks Lilly!

My two daughters wanted to study piano fore some time now and just recently I found Musikalessons website and teacher Milica. I can only say that my daughters are very happy with their piano lessons and simply adore Milica. They already made a great progress and we're all happy with what they learned in this short period. Thank you Musikalessons and Milica.

I started taking voice lessons from Ali when I was 19 and a sophomore in college. Though I was hesitant to be starting "late", I felt very comfortable with Ali and her teaching style. We identified several key issues that really made a difference and improved my voice technique. It was fun to sing popular, beautiful songs in our recital! If only I lived in Los Angeles, I would still be a student. Highly recommended!

I really like her. And as an adult student, a good teacher who keeps the pace up but still keeps it reasonable in terms of difficulty is really hard to find. She does a great job of explaining little detail things in terms I (as a musically challenged human) can understand. I'm having a blast! 10/10 would recommend!
