I've been teaching trumpet since I was a freshman in High School. My mother is a band director for Selma Middle School and frequently asks me to tutor students or conduct a group session. After High School, many private teaching opportunities opened up for me, including Hope Middle School, Red Wood Middle School, Clinton Middle School, as well as brass tech for Topsail High School and Clinton High School. It is also made clear that it is the student's responsibility to come into each lesson showing clear evidence that they've practiced the music. I'm stern about this. In light of this, I will provide additional practice materials that are specific to the instrument each student plays or sings. For more advanced students, virtually all material will come from me, with the exception of students who request help with particularly difficult passages in their other repertoire.
