I achieve this by allowing my student to progress at their own pace while they develop both their knowledge of music and their enjoyment of the craft. I started teaching private piano in 1991 and have trained over 200 private students since starting. I have taught K-12 music in public schools since 1991. My students' ages have ranged from 3 to 66+. As I am fully retired from the public school music classroom, I have expanded my times available for private students - piano, keyboard, ukulele, guitar, and all brass instruments are welcome. I began with teaching middle school jazz sectionals, moved to high school marching band groups, and now teach masterclasses as well as private lessons. I have had the opportunity of teaching elementary aged students with Baton Rouge, LA's Kids' Orchestra program, and have taught college aged students through teaching assistantships and private lessons.
