I am a dedicated and passionate musician who enjoys helping guide students to reach their greatest potential. In 2018 I graduated with honors from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance where I studied with Chad Winkler of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. I am continuing my education at Roosevelt University in the Chicago College of Performing Arts where I am working towards a Master of Music in Orchestral Studiest. Read More

I think my teaching philosophy is to help a student develop the proper fundamentals of trumpet playing while working on making music that inspires and moves that student. As someone who has struggled with many aspects of learning to play the trumpet, I believe that I am particularly well-equipped to patiently help students work through similar issues. I think it's of vital importance to practice every day, even just for a short time. Read More

I have been playing and performing music with my family since the age of 6. I have recently moved to the South Side of Chicago where I perform with an Irish band on the south side of Chicago. My teaching style comes from real world and real life experience. I can teach any serious students from beginners to advanced students. I can teach songs or technique and theory depending on the wants and needs of the student. Read More

I have experience teaching with Standards of Excellence as well as Essential Elements, though I am very open to crafting an individualized curricula for students. When planning lessons, I aim to provide students with 1) music to practice from a variety of genres and styles, 2) music that will challenge them in a variety of ways, and 3) creating/composing exercises and etudes that will help the student focus on particular weaknesses in their playing (I have often used music notation software to create individualized etudes for students). As a composer and multi-instrumentalist, I have put myself in a position that brings me across an extremely wide and dense variety of music that I've been only too happy to explore. In addition to my long-running classical training with piano, clarinet and composition, I've explored jazz, world, rock, fusion, electronic and avant-garde music through the acquisition of my composition degree and through extensive research and self-teaching with saxophone and guitar. Not every person is going to become a musician, as we all have our own passions and dreams. I want my students to find joy, acceptance, and relief from music, not dread and loathing. I like to ask questions such as "How did playing this passage make you feel? or "What is this piece of music mean to you?" Every piece of music elicits some response from us, and I fully believe that recognition and further development of that response can change the way we perceive music. Read More

My teaching experience dates as far back as my high school days, as I began giving lessons to 6th graders almost 6 years ago. Since then, I have taught and met with dozens of students, and helped them flourish as musicians, teaching both as a partner in local schools and out of my own home. The skill levels at which I teach range widely, as I have taught both beginners, learning how to hold their instrument for the first time, to advanced players almost better than me! Read More
