I stay flexible to the individual students' needs. I try to keep the student engaged and ask many questions to help them become their own best teacher. I will give assignments and create goals but also want the student to be self motivated. I will not be overly strict when it comes to practice. After graduating college, I was the resident trumpet at the Barter Theater in Abingdon, Virginia, before completing three contracts as a show band musician on board Celebrity Cruise ships. I have toured Europe with my university's top jazz ensemble, as well as toured the United States with two different professional drum corps, Carolina Crown and Jersey Surf. I had the great pleasure of studying under Allen Vizzutti while completing my degree from the Univeristy of Washington. I have been teaching Prek- 8th Grade general music, choir, drama and instrumental lessons for the past 5 years. My primary instrument is trumpet and I have played in a variety of bands and sung in a variety of choruses of the years.
