As a teacher, I like to focus on each students needs as becoming a well rounded musician.  I like to work from a few method books including Arbans, Rubank, and Schlossberg for building up your embouchere as a trumpet player.  We will focus in on technique, embouchere building, jazz improvisation, and music theory. I began teaching private lessons in 2019. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for student, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. If a student is not having fun in their lessons, then I am not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. It is a very special experience to be able to see a student progress. Depending on the frequency of the lessons, I will set goals for the student to reach by the time the next lesson occurs. I always make the goals realistic for the student and I try my best to make the goal something that the student will enjoy.
