The main reason I became a music teacher is because I love seeing a student improve over the weeks, months, and years. Learning a new instrument, no matter at what age level you start, is a real challenge. It can absolutely become frustrating for even the most eager and ambitious learners at times. I think positive reinforcement with students at all age levels is an absolute must. One thing I think is important is being able to realize is that everyone makes mistakes. Read More

It is rewarding to see my students grow as individual musicians. I, along with each student, will set high yet realistic goals for their musical journey. Each student will take part in their progress through practice and/or research between lessons. I will tailor each lesson based on the students wants, likes, and need by first understanding the student as an individual. Read More

Hi, I am passionate about the importance of music in my life as a creative outlet and trumpet playing in particular has given me a feeling of importance and confidence from junior high school on through my professional career. After college I played professionally in Nashville. Later I spent 3 years traveling full-time through out the United States playing trumpet in several different music groups. Following that I moved back to Nashville and played as a free-lance musician, including as a recording studio musician and contractor. Afterwards, I became a staff musician for Liberty Broadcasting Network. A large Christian Television Network. After 5 years I started my own concert ministry. I traveled again, this time on mostly weekends for the next ten years. Read More

Music has been my passion from a very early age. I have learned through my years as an educator that sharing this passion with others is just as rewarding as personal experience or success. I greatly enjoy performing as much as I can myself but helping students achieve their own personal musical goals has become one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. I look forward to meeting new students and learning about their passions and goals so that I can help them find the most rewarding path possible! Read More

I always start with the fundamentals of sound production along with the musical fundamentals such as scales and sight-reading that go along with performance. I am extremely interested in all aspects of the biomechanics of trumpet playing, from breathing to embouchure to tone production to technique. Because of my intensive study of brass pedagogy I am very capable of teaching euphonium/baritone horn, trombone, tuba, and French horn. I try to make bad trumpet players better, and good trumpet players great. Read More
