Once my younger students have progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I begin to introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for their first recital performance. My method of teaching differs upon each student. I am well rounded for diverse environments, genders, and ages. I use the Standards of Excellence method books for those who are looking for a formal/structured way of learning. For those who are looking for a little less casual way of learning, I use concepts that include different genres of music that include but are not limited to; jazz, classical, contemporary, and pop music as a method that gives students their own creative learning experience. I love seeing students realize their own progress. I always like to start with recording a first attempt and then recording it again once it has been mastered so they can see their progress. I focus on positive reinforcement teaching. Alongside this structured lesson plan, every student will receive training on proper practicing techniques which help build their sense of guidance, responsibility, and structure. Students will also receive training for embouchure and tone development as well as warm up etudes that cater to the students skill level. Music theory and terms will be infused within the lesson plans to ensure my student's proper use of signs and symbols. Read More
