For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, especially for brass instruments. I also tend to mix in some fun songs that are more well known using my own arrangements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Trombone
I am an outgoing and aspiring Trombonist with a pure love for music. I want nothing more than my future students to cherish, learn the beauty of the craft, and have a deep appreciation for music. I am a fresh graduate from Kutztown University; grew up in Allentown. I've been performing since I was in 7th Grade. I've toured, recorded, and have played up to as much as four month's worth of shows. Read More

My teaching style is adaptive to the students goals! I am a fairly easy going teacher that will help meet students where they are at, and walk with them on their growth journey. We will progress at the student's personal pace. My style can range from working casually on a new song each week, trying to perfect that concerto you have been working on, helping pre-professionals get to the musical level they need to achieve to become a professional themselves, or somewhere in the middle! Instruments: Trombone Euphonium
In the first lesson, I always make sure to spend the time gauging the student's skill level. For beginners, I will look to introduce them to Herbert L. Clarke's studies in technique for euphonium players. For trombones, I look to be sure they are hitting trombone positions accurately and quickly, using either the same Clarke book or by using the first exercises in Arban's essentials for trombone. At the intermediate level, I begin to use the Rochut etude books so that all students can grasp musicality and phrasing in a simple setting. Read More

My primary instrument is trumpet and I have played in a variety of bands and sung in a variety of choruses of the years. I began giving private trumpet lessons in 2004 and began giving piano and voice lessons in college. I love helping students achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential. Read More

Lessons are tailored to each individual. My teaching methods include a warm-up routine, scales, and etudes or songs from various method books, depending on the skill level of the student. Standard repertoire in classical and jazz studies is also covered. Sight-reading, improvisation, and ear-training are also a part of most lessons. Material that is time-sensitive for the student, such as school music (band/orchestra) as well as seating test/audition music is given top priority. Read More
