Hanon is the one book that has stayed with me for two decades and I adhere to its various training regimens very closely. Proper technique, learning the notes, and learning how to practice effectively is a great place to start. Even ten minutes a day is better than not practicing. Making lessons fun and giving students tools to bring home is very important to me.
