I keep track each week in a notebook of what their assignments are. I use many different books, learning by ear, learning by youtube, learning by rout, and I have developed my own music writing technique which decodes any song at any level to a much easier level because all students are unique, and deserve to have a teacher who can reach them. It is also very important to me that the student picks their own songs to learn as part of the curriculum, and I will help the student discover which style fits them the best. Read More

When working on a solo piece we will look at it as a whole, go over any terms or passages that the student has questions about and then work in sections as well as addressing the entire piece and the musicality of how to approach and play the piece. My goal is to not only help my students learn their instrument but also to help them to learn about and appreciate many aspects of music wich is one of the greatest joys of teaching. Read More

Personal success and happiness from playing music are the most important things for a student to achieve when taking lessons from me. I will work students hard in lessons, but treat them fairly and expect only what I know they are capable of achieving.
