Nicholas Handahl, Brother Vincent Bache and Mr. Albert Sean Hird of Jamaica Military Band. During his time at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Jones served as a coach for flute ensembles, taught supplementary flute lessons for undergraduate students, worked as the orchestra manager and librarian and also worked with professors as a teaching assistant. He has performed with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, Alcorn State University’s Concert Band, Marching Band, Choir and Jazz Ensemble, The National Historic Black Colleges and University’s ALL STAR Wind Symphony, Jamaica Symphony orchestra, The Young Jamaica Ensemble, and has made several guest appearances at the Natchez Music and Arts league in Mississippi performing solo and collaborative works. For beginners, I recommend Standards of Excellence and if the parent's budget allows, a subscription to Smart Music which can monitor and record daily practice and inform a student of minor errors so growth can happen between lessons. For intermediate or advanced students, I like to establish a well rounded warm-up routine for their practice and move into solo repertoire appropriate for their level.
