I started teaching Privately in 2007 and have continued off and on since. I have worked with students in Woodwind and Brass either privately or in a school setting. Also, I had the opportunity to work with multiple schools ensembles and marching bands. I encourage all of my students to maintain a constant practice schedule in order to work toward our goals. Music is meant to be enjoyed, so I like to find what it is my student enjoys and improve on those aspects. Read More

For brand new students, I usually like to do an assessment of where they are starting in order to recommend the best method books to use that way there is no fear of being overwhelmed in the process of developing. Fundamental techniques are also used in order to gauge what direction to go as the instruction proceeds. For non beginners, I make the adjustment according to goals and desires so that the lessons are also engaging and fun regardless of age or ability. Read More

For students of all ages, I like to lead with the quote from Marcel Moyse; "Practicing is a matter a time, patience and intelligent work", for I believe that once this is applied to the idea of practicing and general encounters with ones instrument, then success and progress is guaranteed. Aside from that principle, I like the idea of independent work from students to keep them accountable on the journey to becoming a musician but a more interactive and demonstrative approach during the lesson to give students an idea of what needs to be done while being that good role model so that they may keep motivated work hard at becoming the best possible musicians. My goal for every student is to experience learning their instruments in an environment that is both encouraging and rewarding. I exhibit patience with the student knowing what it takes to develop new skills and I work hard in helping each student feel at ease in expressing themselves.
