My teaching expereince dates back to before I graduated undergraduate school. Since I had a semester to wait for Commencement, I was afforded an opportunity to work as a Teacher assistant, in an Open Classroom Learning Environment. This immediately preceded a very rewarding Student Teaching experience in the rural southern state of North Carolina. My teaching experience started when I was in high school. Being a son of two teachers I was compelled to become a tutor. I was my first student. Teaching myself how to play the piano and gutiar. My father taught me methods of how to learn and thats what I use to teach. I gained more experience helping people write essays and do home work. For beginning students, I start with the Essential Elements book. If the student has already taken lessons or is in their school band/orchestra, I encourage moving onto the Rubank Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced method books depending on ability. Once a student has proven that they are able to handle it, I will start on solo repertoire.
