I have worked with high school students and middle school students and find it rewarding to see them grow and progress into better musicians. I have enjoyed finding ways to keep my students motivated and wanting to come back and pursue their talent that they can spread with the world. Having established the fundamentals, I like to introduce the student to a series of etudes and more challenging repertoire as the student develops. For beginners on band instruments and piano, I would start them with a method book of their choosing (though I would steer them in a good direction). As a performing musician, we are always giving and receiving knowledge to our colleagues and pals. I've been teaching people things about music since the end of high school, when I began to really feel like I had a grasp on what "good playing" sounds like.
