I teach piano, voice, oboe, saxophone and music theory. Teaching has been my passion since the day I realized that I can make a difference in one's life. We all can be part of the good chance. I have been providing private and group lessons through the New England Youth Wind Ensembles for over three years. I have experience with online, as well as in-person lessons. I encourage regular practice to all students, as it is important to develop daily and weekly routines. I will assist students with any materials they bring to a lesson, whether it’s repertoire from school or audition materials. I will introduce a variety of materials to ensure students are developing an appreciation for music of all cultures and styles. Read More

I am lucky enough to be associated with this thing called music. As a kid, I was introduced to the piano by my dear mother, a pipa player (traditional Chinese guitar), who has always admired western musical instruments. I was never too serious until my teenage years when I met several teachers and friends (to this day) who have shown me how to read music properly and what it means to read it properly. Read More

I was recently hired by Pearson to create a series of instructional videos to accompany their new textbook. In them, I teach students about different words one uses to write about music (timbre, tempo, etc). The publisher has called me "a natural, with a colloquial style that is very engaging and easy to understand." While I am otherwise new to teaching music, I have taught sailing for the past 9 summers of my life. Read More

I am an actively performing concert and chamber musician as well as a passionate instructor. In 2014, I began taking orchestral auditions to be a solo concert saxophonist and got the opportunity to perform under former Philadelphia Orchestra assistant conductor, Maestro Luis Biava. Since then I have been a part of several world premieres of contemporary chamber and concert music and have had the opportunity to perform in venues such as the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Trinity Center for Urban Life in Philadelphia, PA; the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City, and Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN. Nothing is more rewarding to me that seeing a student make steady progress in their lessons and feel proud of themselves in what they have accomplished! I will tailor my lessons to what the student wants to ultimately take away from the lessons, and then I will help them achieve that goal at a pace that is suitable for them and encourages healthy, sustainable growth towards their desired outcome. After determining what the student wants to achieve musically, I will set weekly, realistic goals for the student to meet and to feel accomplished every week by the end of their lesson! Read More
