During the 2015-16 season, I completed a tour with pianist Amanda Zook (Cosme-Zook Duo), performing in New York City, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and Canada. These concerts were sponsored by Project 142 and themselves. As an educator, I teach at the Escuela de Música de Manatí. There I teach flute, flute choir, and wind ensemble. Also, I hold the teacher's assistant position given by my mentor Josué Casillas. Currently Im coaching a jazz ensemble at an NYC public middle school and am working with kids that might not have the resources to study privately. For younger and beginning students, I typically start with technique exercises that focus on producing a strong and clean sound on the instrument, and ensure that the base technique is solidified. We will then work through various technique and work books until the student is at a level where they can choose the music that interests them most. I have played all over the east coast in a wide variety of musical settings and genres. I have opened for the legendary George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic in Roanoke Virginia, and I play regularly at some of New York Citys finest jazz clubs such as The Blue Note NYC, Smalls Jazz Club, Dizzys Club Coca-Cola, Birdland, Rockwood Music Hall, and many other venues in NYC.
