Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

The most important thing for me as a teacher is to see my students having fun, and really enjoying learning their instrument. I want to see them be passionate about getting better because they’re excited about what’s coming next. By learning about the students goals, and also learning about their musical taste and the kinds of music that inspire them, I can create a lesson plan that totally dedicated to each individual student so that they get the most out of their lesson, and so that I get them closer to their goal. I focus on nurturing a students natural curiosity, while helping them find the tools to pursue their own musical interests. Many of my younger students prefer to use technology to connect with music (learning how songs are recorded, and the theory behind songwriting), but I also work with more serious students to prepare for college auditions, state/regional jazz band, etc. My methods differ depending on a student's own goals, but they generally all will start with a technical exercise, an exercise designed to get the student thinking critically, and an application of the concepts we're learning. I will have the have a notebook so that every class we can write down what the student needs to practice and and work on till next time. The student might feel bored in the beginning but I hope to show the student the fun in learning music and how rewarding it feels to learn a piece. Watching the student grow and start to have interest on their own is what is most important. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I normally start with a basic Hal Leonard beginning instrument book. Once the student has progressed through the book and developed some technical facility, I will introduce a solo repertoire piece. For adults I try to start them off with a adult version of the appropriate begging instrument book. I try to make the curriculum for adults more based on their interested in regards to their ability level. Read More

I personalize all lessons according to the goals and desires of the student. I provide the study material from my own personal collection of books and documents, or I can work with materials the student provides. I believe in using student suggestions as study materials to make lessons more fun and tailored to student goals. I choose student suggested songs in order of current performance level; thus they will always be learning something that is up to their level but challenging enough to push them to the next level in their musical journey.
