My greatest passion involving music is passing on the vast knowledge I have gained from a real world prospective as a working professional in a field involving the arts. From 2012-2017, I was based out of Nashville traveling the U.S. as part of a country music artist where I gained a unique real world view of music. I also was lucky enough along the way to perform alongside some of the most renowned bands and artists across the music industry. Read More

The most important thing for me as a teacher is to see my students having fun, and really enjoying learning their instrument. I want to see them be passionate about getting better because they’re excited about what’s coming next. By learning about the students goals, and also learning about their musical taste and the kinds of music that inspire them, I can create a lesson plan that totally dedicated to each individual student so that they get the most out of their lesson, and so that I get them closer to their goal. For young beginning piano students, I typically start with John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano: The First Grade Book and move up throughout the series from there. For young beginning voice students, I start with lessons on proper breath support, sight-singing, intonation exercises, and warm-ups to shape their voice. For both my piano and voice students, I establish a strong, classical foundation that is built on fundamentals to get their instrument working properly and then branch out to other genres from there. That is my #1 priority. I emphasize improvisation the most for all my students so they are able to express themselves freely on their instrument! From my experience, most of my students, if not all, practice diligently and consistently because they want to! Not because they are forced to, but because they love to. I explore all types of genre from hip-hop, rock, classical, and jazz in order to expand the student's musical palette. Read More

For a beginning student on guitar, I have them learning notes from a Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, or Alfred starter book. All these books are great, but I believe it depends on the individual student and how they learn. I also teach tab to beginners. I feel it is important to read tabs these days as well as notes. I also work with music theory. It is also important to know what you are doing, not just putting your fingers on the strings. Read More

I teach out of instructional books, notably books by Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, and Alfred. Sometimes, I use sheet music print outs, or draft up my own exercises.  I go back in forth in a non-conventional manner, adapting accordingly to the student's needs.  I like to incorporate exercises and warm ups to improve and enchance technique.  I also teach songs that the student would like to learn.  I'm very patient and rarely rigid in my approach, although I do stick to a general routine that allows a focused approach to learning. I've been performing and teaching throughout NYC for the past 10 years. Both performing and teaching useful concepts are a big passion of mine. My goal is to get you to have fun learning what you want learn and along the way we'll learn technique and other important concepts. My home base is drumset but over the years I have really honed multiple instruments in the world of the rhythm section and love teaching the roles of each instrument in this world. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
