Instruments: Piano
I make the student the focus of the lesson. I give them my complete attention. When I explain something which is new to the student I always try to have several ways to explain it. I try to keep the lessons feeling upbeat so the student can enjoy them. I do make it clear that practice is needed in order to become accomplished. It is no different from homework that they get from school. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet
I am Alex K., a trumpet performer and teacher born and raised in Orlando, FL. I have been playing the trumpet for 10 years, performing all around the United States and in several cities in East Asia. My love for music and the trumpet began with a strong passion for jazz and classical literature in middle school. This passion led to countless hours of practice and curiosity, eventually culminating in winning the concerto competition for the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras at 18 years old. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More
Instruments: Piano Accordion Keyboard
I try to be as flexible as possible, many things would depend on the student's age and background. I pay a lot of attention to movement when playing the instrument, I try to do this from the lesson one with an absolute beginner. I consider knowing music theory to be important but secondary, so I try to familiarise my students (especially children) with the instrument from the very beginning keeping the amount of theoretical information minimal. As a teacher I try to inspire my students. Whether its playing a song for them to motivate them, breaking things down to the most simple element, I approach teaching in a pragmatic way. Everyone is a little different when it comes to learning, so my job is to somewhat cater the lesson to the student in order that they get the most out of it. I encourage students to practice and I follow up on the assignments given. Read More
