For beginners, I like to start with getting to know the keys and their patterns. There are 7 different white keys and 5 different black keys and once you figure out the pattern, it becomes easy to identify the keys on the piano. After that, I like to touch over basic music theory i.e. identifying sharps and flats, intervals, structures of scales, etc. I also like to teach my students how to read sheet music and flashcards (which I have) have helped a numerous amount of times with that. After winning the LB Bank Scholarship for Young Musicians (Germany), I moved to Karlsruhe, Germany, to study with Professor Olga Rissin at the Karlsruhe Hochschule fr Musik. In Germany, I have performed numerous concerts as a soloist, receiving an invitation to record Bachs Busoni Chaconne for the SWR Radio Station in Southern Germany.In 2010 I came to US and completed Artist Diploma at Hamline International Piano Institute with professor Alexander Braginsky. I started teaching voice in college and have taught piano in high school. For each I have about a little over year of experience. I want my students to use their musical skills as much as possible to give them motivation to practice and satisfaction in their newfound abilities. My musical life has been extraordinary. Born in Mpls. MN, I attended the Aspen Musical Festival before my departure to Vienna Austria for Master studies in Violin/viola and piano. Scholarship intended for one year ended up a 25 year tenure, teaching, performing in Vienna and raising a family. I returned to the US to become executive director of a music school in MN. I was able to start new after school music programs for elementary schools throughout the district, start an orchestra program and open a theater program for kids. Read More
