I have consistently played in my middle and high school bands and have attended numerous Honor Bands and camps related to concert percussion. After I graduated high school, I began attending LSU to earn an Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, and performed with LSU Wind Ensemble and Tiger Marching Band. For beginning students who are children, I start with Rubank's Elementary Method book.  This will provide the student with the basic fundementals.  I will then introduce the student to a variety of solo repertoire for his or her instrument. For beginning students, I start with the basics which includes proper posture and hand placement, identifying notes and keys on the keyboard and the theory behind identifying major and minor scales as well as triads. We will also begin with the basics to reading sheet music and move into chord charts once an understanding of triads has been established.
