I am fairly new to teaching, but have taught 1-4 grade general music, 5-6 grade choir, and am currently a high school choir director. I have performed in many choral settings including professional choirs with full orchestras. I have made debuts in operas. My musical background and experience started my early years. My family and I sang together, in church, in school, and in shows and special events. I began studying singing and song leading with my father at age six, piano with my mother at age seven, and guitar with my cousin at age thirteen. Through the years, my love of music—performing, learning, teaching, and sharing has never waned. I graduated in the Fall of 1998. Since then, I have toyed with organ and electronic keyboard as I started following more of the classic rock and pop styles of the 70's and 80's. Although my classical training taught me a great deal, it has helped me learn more about rock and pop in general, plus it helps me find what' lacking in today's music. with the skills I have within and outside of Fresno State, I want to impart what I have learned on others, so that they too can become more well-rounded as musicians. My teaching experience began when I was a senior in high-school My sister had taught a few students in our neighborhood and asked me to take on her students when she moved away to attend college. I gladly did and discovered my love and passion for teaching. I taught consistently from 2003-2005 in Gilroy, until I attended Fresno Pacific University.
