The most successful students are the ones who are motivated to learn and improve. Therefore, I work with my students to foster a passion for music performance. Because playing music encompasses many distinct disciplines, I do not simply focus on technical development. I provide my students many avenues to improve their music performance abilities by teaching them about both the science and the art of playing an instrument. To help foster a passion for music I help students establish realistic goals and benchmarks to measure their progress and experience tangible improvement. Read More

I love singing! I feel so lucky to have performed for some of the greatest singers of our time: Rene Elise Goldsberry (Broadway), Jennifer Rowley (Metropolitan Opera), Kristine Opolais (Met), Ailyn Perz (Met), and Lisette Oropesa (Met). I have also performed in venues and companies all over the world: Thailand, Hawaii, Italy, and Austria. Over the last several years, I've been instructing students on piano and performing at outside engagements for clients. Additionally, I'm a Piano Associate at Von Maur who performs regularly throughout the week and weekends. Music has been such a big part of my life since I could first recall, and teaching others to play piano is a way for me to spread this passion outside of myself. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing real life results from my students. Setting concrete goals is very important for me and my students, weather that be to get into all-state or to be able to play a scale at a certain bpm. First and foremost, I hope to cultivate passion in my students. I believe that when a student is passionate they can learn to teach themselves and my job is to provide that student with as many different tools as possible. Read More

My philosophy is creating a solid musical foundation for students to deepen their understanding of singing and playing the piano. I always try my best to convey the basic musical knowledge to students, helping students develop their ability to recognize, read, listen, response, notate, understand rhythmic patterns and experiences in different musical cultures. Some of the main areas which students would have an opportunity to learn in general music class are Rhythm, Pitch, Texture/Harmony, and Form. Read More
