I have been teaching music in earnest in some capacity for the past five years. I worked as the music intern for a church where I would lead choir warmups and rehearsals, and from there I got my first flute student - a lovely soprano who was roughly 70 years young and had played flute in her high school days. Blake has performed as part of the Grammy Jazz Band, Jazz Band of America, Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, Iowa All-state Jazz Band, Iowa All-state Band, Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, The Symphony of Northern Arkansas and the Brubeck Jazz Colony. Blake recently graduated with his masters in trombone performance from the University of Arkansas where he served as a teaching assistant to the trombone studio.
