It is so important to establish a goal for a student to work towards, so that they know what they're practicing for. I believe that each student is very individualized, and no student learns exactly the same as another. I take the great things about the Suzuki Method and use them (fun, creativity, by-ear learning, group jams). Then I take the things I don't like about the method and disregard them (pre-established repetoire, no composition or improv).
