For beginner students of drums and piano, we start with the basics. That includes, grasping a solid understanding of common musical terms, and applying them to properly learn to read and play songs. Once a student has a solid grasp of basic music theory, I will begin to challenge them and push them to new heights with new standards, and more challenging pieces to play. I also teach composition and music production to those who are interested. I teach music production from a sequencing app that works on Apple and Android. My goal for teaching is students are able to practice all the songs they have learned during the lesson time, master them before next lesson begins. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Music for Little Mozart, Alfred Premier Piano Course, or Faber Piano Adventures. Once the student has progressed to have grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for them. For adults, I try to find out what they are interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun.
