I custom make the lesson plans to meet the need of each student, and I play or sing each assignment, then have the student go through everything once before doing it at home. We choose a book that suits the student, and there are weekly assignments from the book. 2- Theory work, usually focusing on the Blues form. I find that both these series introduce the concepts of technique, theory, solo playing, and terminology in ways that help them learn effectively.
