Through my studies, lessons, and performances, I have learned to appreciate the rich diversity found in music. A joy that I love sharing with all of my students. In 2016, I enjoyed participating in an international competition that served to further my experiences as a musician. All in all, I believe the study of music should always be an enjoyable experience no matter what your musical aspirations may be. Read More

Every lesson plan I make is customized to a student's interests, learning needs, and age. I combine a combination of technique focus and repertoire learning in each lesson. As students progress, their plans are updated to reflect their growth as a musician. I like to involve students directly in the goal planning process and keep them regularly updated about where they are on meeting their goals. Furthermore, teaching sustainable, healthy, and effective practice techniques is a core part of how I teach. Read More

I believe the most important component of music lessons is finding music the student loves to play. If a teacher can foster a genuine love of music in a student, that student is, generally speaking, guaranteed to put forth a generous effort toward learning complete pieces. If a student does not enjoy playing the music that is put in front of them, they are unlikely to put forward the effort necessary to progress as a musician. Read More

Teaching is my passion! Currently I work as a teacher at Washington Japanese school and other music organization and am very comfortable to work for kids. I love to find their music talent and develop their piano skill and expression. I gained my piano skill by taking 12 year private lessons. My piano and Russian language skill enabled me to work with Russian musicians. Especially in 1996 I worked as an interpreter/assistant for Master class lessons by Prof. Read More

For piano, I like the Piano Adventures Method by Faber but have also used Alfred and Bastien. I am very focused on a relaxed and precise technique, including proper rotation, articulation, flexibility, and strength, as well as teaching the ability to play without looking at the keys. For voice, I work to build a solid technique based on individual need and interest and choose songs accordingly. Proper breathing and body awareness, utilizing Alexander and Feldenkrais methods, as well as understanding of vowel and consonant articulation and of the intimate relationship between text and music is also essential.
