While achievement is important to me, I believe that developing long-term skills is a far more significant. I prefer to emphasize skill-building and retention, and always want to make sure the student is enjoying the process. I prefer to set realistic short- and long-term goals for students at each lesson, and acknowledge their accomplishments with a system of rewards. Additionally, at the end of each year, I encourage my students' participation in a studio-wide voluntary recital, which is intended to showcase their growth and development over the course of the year as well as afford them an opportunity to perform in public. I am committed to helping each student reach his or her musical potential, and believe that this should be a fun-filled process. While I am a strong proponent of the importance of proper technique and form, I also strive to make sure that the artistry is never lost in the learning experience. I encourage students to set goals and to maintain a practice and study plan that enables them to achieve those goals. Read More

I usually use Alfred Basic Piano Library Book 1 for beginning young students and Alfred's All-In-One Course for beginning adults. I will combine piano playing and music theory in my teaching. During the lessons, I start with scales, technical exercise, and then solo repertoire. For weekly assignment, I might give my students 1-2 solo repertoire, scales, and technical exercise depends on there level. Also, I often adjust my teaching methods to students' needs. Read More

I've worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults using my skills as a music therapist. As a student, you should expect opportunities to express yourself in music, find enjoyment with the arts, exceed your own expectations, and experience continual learning. I emphasize learning foundational skills, practice, practice, growth, practice, learning, experiencing, listening, practice, and exploring. Did I mention practice...? :) Consistency is key in music. I've found that explorationg of styles helps keep students interested and makes for a better learning environment. Read More

I firmly believe a solid foundation is the key to success. And that is why, I have spent the past 15 years (and counting) developing and hand-crafting a SIMPLE, EASY-TO-FOLLOW, STEP-BY-STEP approach to learning piano, designed to get students playing songs on their own, often times within a matter of a few short months. The process can sometimes be a bit slower in the beginning, but often leads to more long term, ongoing success. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm.
