It is a rewarding experience when you have the opportunity to see your students blossom and grow in their talents. I look at every student as a unique individual, with the potential to achieve his or her particular goal. I think it is important to find the method or approach that works best for each individual. I set realistic goals and reasonable expectations for my students and establish a comfortable climate in which to learn and try new things. Read More

My general rule of thumb is, the younger the student, the less technique I will teach. Although I do not necessarily consider there to be a minimum age requirement for pursuing voice lessons, I do copiously encourage parents to be astutely aware of the potential risks encountered when young students are taught vocal and breathing techniques which should be reserved for intermediate or advanced students. My focus with younger students is to instill a passion and excitement for music while developing fundamental techniques. Read More

I encourage students to pick the music they want to play. For those who have no prior music knowledge at all, there are numerous beginning methods that are satisfactory. I teach harmony and ear training at a level in agreement with ability of the fingers to execute. It is so nice to learn to play by ear, (starting with very simple tunes) going from the brain to the keyboard without the crutch of the paper score. Of course this is the objective of preparation (study, practice) anyway, so the emotional feeling that the composer intended can be experienced and interpreted (and communicated to the audience) in a wonderful, magical way. I have recently graduated from Temple University's Boyer College of Music with a master's degree, and have been actively performing and teaching in the Philadelphia area. I have performed in many major cities in the US (including New York, Boston,Washington D.C., Baltimore, and more), as well as across Europe. My main focus areas are classical, jazz, rock, contemporary classical, and theatre. I look forward to teaching you! Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Trumpet
I have taught one-on-one lessons for guitar, voice, piano, and trumpet for multiple years. My lessons are student-driven so that the learner can begin to critically think about and perform music on their own without the constant "need" for a teacher. I have taught a wide-range of learners of different ages and abilities. With the guidance from me, learners feel confident in their ability to successfully perform. Read More

I'm a energetic, thought-provoking, and creative voice/piano teacher who loves working with students of all ages and loves to help them grow and develop their technique. Just shy of last year, 2015, I graduated from LIU Post University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education K-12 graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.8 average. I've performed in famous venues such as Carnegie Hall multiple times. I've also had the fortune to travel and perform in places such as Bay View, MI, Costa Rica and Ireland. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I structure my lessons in the same way I structure my own personal practice. I usually start off with a few technical exercises, then cover some theory, and then work on repertoire. How much time goes in to each category will depend on the student. A beginner tends to need more time on technique, whereas someone who has an audition or recital coming up will spend most of their time on repertoire. Read More
