I travel to all of my students houses and have a very flexible schedule. It helps with minimizing the time of the parents/ students travel and bringing the lesson into the comfort of their own home. I check with each student what they are really trying to get out of their lessons and which direction they want to go. I got my own start in music very late, and was actively discouraged in my youth from pursuing it--so one of my main goals as an educator is to motivate students and encourage them that they can still be performers. Once the student has progressed to gain fundamentals I introduce Alfred’s Basic piano Library Prep Course with the theory book as well.
