Hello! While playing music is one of my favorite thing in the world, it doesn't seem to compare to teaching others how to make music. I'm a University of Michigan student who loves producing and jamming out. I started my musical career at age 10 with the cello, but pretty quickly changed to the piano. My formal education is lacking, but I've spent the last 12 years learning theory and performance through books, articles, and lots and lots of trial and error. Read More

Students should have fun!!! Learning how to improvise and create your own music is a skill every child can learn. I create play-along videos so that you can practice at home... I present information in an educational and entertaining way for a living. A high achiever from a young age, I performed in Carnegie Hall at age 19, and was professor at two Universities by age 22. I've studied privately with the head of both Julliard's and Yale's guitar departments. Read More

I firmly believe that students are best served when their teacher knows and cares about them. This attitude toward teaching helps me to tailor instruction to students' needs rather than following a prescriptive method. I usually begin lessons with a brief, informal conversation where we discuss the student's week and talk about things that are important to them. A strong and appropriate student-teacher relationship is the bedrock for successful goal-setting, accountability, and, of course, fun in private lessons! Read More

I'm very friendly and patient. Learning music should be enjoyable, and never a burden. My students learn at their own pace and have fun doing it. I'm happy to work with youngters, providing they have a basic grasp of letters and numbers. Older beginners are some of my favorites, those who may have always wanted to learn and never had time before. It's never too early or late to bring music into your life, as it helps with concentration, dexterity, and relaxation! Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
Anyone can learn to sing through persistence, hard work, and healthy practice. Singing helps improve lung capacity, diaphragm muscles, immune system strength, and relieves stress. Reading and performing music also exercises the same areas of the brain that handle math, language, and critical thinking. For my younger students, I focus on breathing, proper posture, and the fundamentals of music. For my older students, I work on correct technique, languages, musical analysis, advanced repertoire, as well as appropriate repertoire they want to work on. Read More

Being a teacher is by far one of the most rewarding choices that I have ever made. Seeing a students growth and development is absolutely astounding. I believe that each student is very individualized, and no student learns exactly the same as another. As a teacher, I believe that I need to constantly be adaptable and adjustable to each student's needs. I also want the student to enjoy the learning process; it is important that the student knows that he or she is making achievements and enjoys the rewards of his or her hard work. Read More

I placed the highest priority on the teacher-student relationship. I believe that maintaining a good teacher-student relationship can foster a students music learning. A student will be motivated to learn and practice if they like their teacher. Also, they will be eager to share their own ideas and interpretations of the music. Therefore, I will remain a not-too-close relationship with my student. If having a too close relationship with students, teachers may not become an authority to their students anymore, and receive less respect from them. Read More
