I started teaching privately while attending university in Denver, concentrating in jazz and American improvised styles on guitar. Although while I love jazz some of my favorite music is surf, classic country, and soul (blues and rock n roll too). I'm a very passionate and hard working teacher, with a goal to keep the legacy of music passed on. I believe in building relationships with all of my students, as I have learned people only want to learn from people they like. I graduated from West Georgia University with a BA in Guitar performance, and a minor focus on piano and saxophone. I have experience playing classical, jazz, and rock all over the country as well as in Germany for a jazz tour in college. Read More

I was offered my first piano teaching job 5 years ago, and have continued to teach ever since. I've taught children as young as 4 years old and first-time adults as old as 60. The most rewarding experiences I've had as a teacher include watching shy, young students consistently evolve into mature young adults who leap at the chance to perform in recitals or take on new challenges in their musical careers. I always encourage a sound sense of self-discipline when I teach lessons. Read More

I am 74 years young, have been married for 42 years, have six children, two birth and four adopted from Ethiopia, live near Parker on a 5-acre property with 4 horses, several dogs and a husband. I am healthy, flexible and friendly. I play with a flutist at several assisted living facilities. We play the oldies, a couple of classical pieces, a march, a polka and seasonal music that the residents recognize (at least they recognize most of the songs). Read More

My approach is based largely on the intentions of the student. Beginner students will need a foundation to build on, that foundation will include singing, reading music, clapping rhythms, learning melodies, and free exploration for a fearless musical future. Older experienced students will be exposed to a More in depth view of the fundamental components of music, a particular group twelve crucial aspects that must work effortlessly in concert to create an impressionable musical experience.
