I continued to study classical, pop, and jazz stlyes, and began performing at age 7, and teaching in high school. Since college, I have maintained a private studio, either at home or in pretigious music schools, and have also taught in the school setting. Basic theory is absolutely fundamental to learning to play. There are many different theory books as well as online theory lessons.
