I taught music for 18 years in all kinds of institutions, both in Brazil as well as in the United States. From low income communities to music universities, I worked with all levels of students and I learned how to adapt my Pedagogy and method books to any situation. I work with students that have special needs (any and all kinds) and will also teach music professionals and artists that need a boost in confidence or some feedback in their projects. Read More

After carefully assessing each of my students, and determining whether or not he or she are beginners, intermediate or advanced, I start them in the lesson book that is according to the level they are at. I teach from Alfred's Piano Course, but if my student has a piano book already, it is not a problem to teach from that series. Once my student has progressed and has a strong understanding of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire for their recitals and personal interest. Read More

For the past 40 plus years I have taught music to children and adults in school and church settings, and at a performing arts center. I currently teach children how to play orchestra instruments through the NC Symphony Instrument Zoo Program. Read More

I am a firm believer in having each student learn basic scales, starting with five finger patterns for beginners, since a solid grasp on this technique will aid them in learning any piece. For beginning younger students, I start teaching them from a method book that best suits their learning style. Since each student is different, one method does not fit every student, and I have taught Alfred's Premier Performer, Mayron Cole Piano Method, Hal Leonard, and more. Read More

I began teaching private lessons about two and a half years ago, in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. I had students there that ranged in age from five to fifty, and it was such a joy to watch them grow! I am comfortable teaching students of all levels and ages, no one is ever too young or too old to learn an instrument in my opinion. It is very important to me to have parents involved in the learning process, whether that be through observation of lessons or helping out with practice throughout the week. Read More
