For beginners who are children, I typically use Faber and Faber's Piano Adventures. One of my biggest goals while teaching is to provide my students with a well-rounded music education. From my experience, the Piano Adventures series aligns well this goal while providing engaging, fun material for children. After completing a series of method books, I start to focus on classical repertoire. For beginner students who are children 3-5, I focus on training their ears. I do lots of "piano key finding game' for them to know the right sound & keys. For age 5-7 I focus on training sight reading skill and fingering skills as well as listening training. I have taken lessons up until College, where I graduated from Bennett College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
