Choosing appropriate repertoire that appeals to the students and helps to address technical deficiencies, as well as showcases their natural gifts, is of utmost importance. Highest on my list of teaching goals is to create a highly inclusive learning environment, where students with a range of abilities, across intersecting social identities, feel at home in the space. I tailor my methods to suit my students' unique musical needs and goals and adjust them overtime as the students' abilities grow. For more advanced students, we will focus on a variety of topics such as touch, tone color, interpretation, aural skills, music theory, score study, and musicianship. Read More

This concept is based on using air as the primary energy source for producing sound. We will work on strengthening the breathing apparatus to be able to produce a pure clear tone that is without distortion. From there we work on being able to keep that same sound thought the full range of the instrument. Read More
