My experience is derived from my work as an instructor at an Ann Arbor music school. I have taught a wide range of ages, and enjoy every age I teach for different reasons. I believe everyone has something new to offer. I have played in punk, rock, and ska bands, as well as playing with certain groups at the music school. I discovered my musical interests and performance abilities through private piano lessons, dance classes, private voice lessons, and musical theatre acting workshops. I began my teaching experience as an assistant instructor/choreographer for the StarBright! Youth Musical Theatre classes at a local community theatre. I began teaching youth choirs right after graduating High School. With excellent instruction, I began a more studied teaching approach through my pedigogy class at Central Michigan University. Also, I helped my fellow classmates prepare for their performances. I am beginning to teach privately after continuing my vocal study with a Vocal Coach in the Detroit area. I choose music that will help students in many different areas. Students need some music that will help them work on fundamentals: long tones, slurs, articulations, and scales. Students also need to play music they enjoy. All of my students, in addition to the fundamentals of good playing, bring in music that is enjoyable to play and that they like. My teaching experience started in Music Collage,where teaching of school age students was part of curriculum .After graduation from Kiev Conservatory I taught individual violin and viola lessons at Kiev Music School #10 for Gifted Children. Shortly after immigrating to the United States I joined the teaching staff of the Notre Dame School of Music,where I served as a violin teacher for 5 years.
