My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching adults part time as a student at an eastcoast mainland conservatory of music. In 2000, I moved to Louisiana where I was on the staff of a Music School as a part time cello instructor. I enjoyed teaching high school students, and helped students organize their busy schedules by encouraging them to schedule regular practice sessions and assisting them to keep a written journal of lesson assignments and key learning points and accomplishments made from week to week. I have been teaching guitar almost for as long as I've been playing. I'm a self-taught musician from the age of 15; at 16 I was helping my close friends learn; and by 17 I was already taking on students. Since then, I've had over a decade of experience and dozens of students who I've helped usher in to the wonderful world of music. I graduated from the University of Oregon with my Ba. in music composition in 2008. After that I moved back to Hawaii where I'm from and I began teaching private lessons. I have now taught music at several schools and am currently teaching at N.H.K.S. and teaching private lessons after school. I've been teaching private lessons for over 10 years.
