I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. In 2016, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Clarinet Performance at Morehead State University, and in April 2018 I graduated with my Master of Music degree at the Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music. Regardless of the level of musician, basic fundamentals are extremely important to a brass musician. In fundamental studies, we will learn lip slurs, tonguing exercises, efficient breathing, excellent buzzing technique, etc. We will achieve maximum proficiency in basic fundamentals by using method books (according to skill level) , such as Remington, Schlossberg, Arban's, ect., and personally curated exercises designed for the individual.
