Teaching the fundamentals of music gives the student the ability to work on technique development. Once the fundamentals of technique and theory line up then I will begin to introduce songs and solos based on the students ability and interests. I have taught mostly for friends in the past. I started playing in early age, but didn't start teaching until some high school friends wanted to learn a few things. I really enjoyed helping them break down a problem, I always had a very systems-approach. Recently, I had a female student that was learning pieces for her school's talent show. I helped her understand the underlying technique issues and revisited some basics concerning rhythm and fingering, and she gave me a very positive review for my style. Read More

I am a member of National Music Teachers Association, Colorado State Music Teachers Association and Foothills Music Teachers Association. I begin by assessing each student's level, as well as their needs and desires, and then form a plan of action to address those needs. Following my early training, I pursued further musical education under the guidance of piano professor Dr. Brandon Bascom at Fresno City College for two years before continuing my piano studies with Andreas Werz at CSU Fresno where I had the privilege of being the recipient of a number of their scholarships for music majors.
