I have taught in a variety of musical settings with a wide range of students and abilities. I have taught independently as well as for organizations such as the Youth Orchestra of Central NJ. In 2012 I worked for Camp Encore Coda where I taught trumpet lessons, directed the Symphonic Band, coached jazz combos, and taught music theory/musicianship class.  My experience working as full time music faculty for Camp Encore Coda sparked my graduate research on overnight summer music camp, which has since been presented at three major professional conferences in the music education field at the state, national, and international level. It's extremely rewarding and gratifying seeing some of my beginner students as well as advanced starting from scratch on a daily continuing effort, practicing and studying hard, pushing forward putting time on a daily basis practicing in class and on their own finally becoming and developing into seasoned and experienced musicians and joining musical bands some; and doing solo musical projects others. My experience with doing private lessons started when my last year at Bethune Cookman to earn a little extra cash in my pocket. I started out teaching beginning elementary students which sharpened up my skills for basic knowledge of the saxophone. As time progressed I started to teach intermediate student so that they can develop the tone and basic technique. All teaching methods are different which is why I prefer to stay diverse and open to the preferences of the student. Being familiar with nearly every genre of music, I’m capable of teaching any style the student is interested in from movie scores, to broadway show tunes, to gospel, and modern, etc. Of course my favorite style and the one I recommend is the classical curriculum which I usually try to implement with each student as it has shown the best results in the past with students of all ages.
