Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Saxophone Flute Clarinet
My students fall in love with music and frankly they fall in love with me. Why? Because we, together, create beautiful music together and have fun and inspiring times. Teachers that drive their students to play and do homework produce people that give up on their instruments and then talk to me when they're 30 yrs old, filled with regret that they didn't continue. Not their fault! They were driven to hate their instrument. Read More
Instruments: Flute Piccolo
I taught music for several years in college as part of arts mentorship programs conducted in Trenton. In general I believe that music education should be inclusive and accessible to people of all backgrounds and skill levels, and I also believe strengthening foundational technique by encouraging regular practice of scales and exercises is very important. In addition to teaching classical repertoire, I'm also open to teaching any genre of music that a student might be interested in – the flute is really versatile and I'd love to work with students to explore their interests more! Instruments: Guitar Music Electric Guitar
My teaching experience began when I was working on my Associate of Arts in music production and sound technology. Having been trained in music theory and classical guitar from the University of Chile for three years, by the time I started college, I was able to help many students. I mostly gave guitar and singing lessons, but also did tutoring in music theory. I have been teaching music ever since. Read More

I'm a passionate motivated instructor who likes to work with kids and adults of all ages. I like to connect with the student and find the best path to achieve their musical goals. I like to try to inspire the students by finding some sounds or music that will make them want to pick up the instrument and play. I play a variety of styles, ranging from Classical music to Heavy Metal, including, light/ classic rock, pop, folk, country, and jazz. Read More
Instruments: Drums Orchestral Percussion
Over the past 10 years, I have developed a method of teaching that focuses heavily on fundamentals that are essential to any drummer regardless of whether they are beginner or advanced: Hand Technique, Reading, 4-way Drum Set Coordination, Time Keeping and Feel/Pocket, and Stylistic Development. I provide my private collection of PDF's and exercises to my students depending on what is being worked on. While I use books and exercises when teaching, you will never find me teaching out of books exclusively because I believe that books are only supplemental to teaching. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
For beginning students, I use the Piano Adventure Series by Nancy Faber and Randall Faber. I also use the A Thousand Stories for a Little Pianist by Katrin Arefy. My special methods in teaching young students include stories, easy duets, and singing familiar folk songs. For intermediate level students, I use different method books according to the student's interests. However, I encourage them to play Classical music, which is very useful in developing good techniques in piano playing. Read More

Progress is made at the student's own pace. I try to set goals that are both far-reaching and realistic. Anything is possible if you don't give up too easily! I've used a variety of different lesson books in the past. It's important to note that the Bastien piano books, as well as the Clark, Faber, and Alfred methods all play to different strengths. Since different students respond better to different methods, I try to incorporate some variety which focuses on several concepts: developing ear-training (i.e. picking up melodies and chords from ear) as well as sight-reading, technique, and choosing interesting repertoire.
