I'm a passionate and motivated teacher who loves working with students and sharing my love for music. In 2007, I graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a minor in music with a performance focus on the viola. I had the opportunity to study under Dr. Alberto Jaffe, world renowned violinist, and Dr. John Wilcox. For beginning students, I will introduce basic guitar and musical terminology and focus and proper form of playing. Once certain fundamentals have been established I will begin to introduce a repertoire based on the student's interests and skill level. Depending on the age of the student I will start them on Berklee's Guitar Method I if they are old enough. While in my formative years, I enjoyed weekly piano lessons with a woman that I've come to appreciate as my second mother. She has always encouraged my talent and made sure I was using proper form as often as possible, even when I adopted the hobby of transcribing popular music to the piano and playing from rote. I encourage structure in the lessons, but am flexible to work on the students needs. I focus on helping students create their best possible sound and communicate with expression. I have been teaching professionaly since the age of 19.  It's been an unbelievable 19years. My performance experience ranges from winning college competitions, serving as pianist, organist, and music director for many local congregations, to singing in a cover band with my husband. I have a broad knowledge of musical styles and cultures.
