I'm a passionate and driven young musician eager to share the knowledge and experience I have and grow with others through teaching. I encourage regular practice, as students who feel they are progressing and doing well tend to enjoy their instrument more. As they become more advanced, they are encouraged to start giving opinions on what they want to learn. I have three areas of emphasis in my teaching: provide the student with a balanced repertoire, demand correct technique, and require a solid foundation in music theory.  I will provide my students with opportunities to participate in recitals, festivals, contests, and state theory exams. I have been teaching voice for over 10 years. Since I had a passion for teaching I decided to go back to school to obtain my Masters and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees. I don't use any one method book. Instead I opt to pull from a variety of sources depending on the students age, background, and skill level. In terms of repertoire, I focus almost exclusively on classical music. While I am a fan of other genres, I also firmly believe that building a solid, classically-based technical foundation is the only way to really become proficient on any instrument.
