As an accomplished self taught pianist and composer I've spent my life experimenting with different methods, material and practice beliefs. I can teach and speak more broadly now about music, not as an elitist activity but as a language vital to humans whether it is "spoken" or heard. Young children literally have a small voice so they cannot produce the same volume or quality of sound as an adult. For young children that are ready to start training, the lessons are structured to avoid straining the voice. The music chosen for young students is age-appropriate, lyric-appropriate and within the range of a young voice.
