I have over 12 years of teaching orchestra at a high school level and over 20 years of private lesson teaching instruction. I know that everyone has enough "talent" to play a musical instrument; I provide the precise instruction on how to approach violin/viola in order to grow your talent. I am comfortable communicating with children just learning to play and very much enjoy teaching adult beginners also. I have been a part of the City Music program for the last decade, both in Cleveland and in Boston. Through that, I have been able to both receive and pass on an excellent music education. I was a mentor for younger students when I was college, leading me to be involved in the local high school big bands. I would lead rehearsals, saxophone sectionals, and work one on one with students to make sure they were creatively and mentally engaged and that they knew what areas they could work on to improve. I began teaching people how to play instruments when I was in high school, by teaching new students to the band how to play percussion. I then continued teaching once in college by volunteering at local high schools helping new students to the band programs learn brass and percussion. From there I worked with the Rich South high school band director and the Jack Hille middle school band directors. Once I graduated college I taught choir and instrumental music for the catholic school system for two years. Read More

Since instuctional materials use similar but somewhat different ways of presenting concepts, I use the the series that will allow the student to grasp and master the fundamentals. Im a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students of all ages and sharing my love of music! In 2010, I graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. I started teaching private lessons while in college and loved it so much I never stopped! I have performed in various choirs and ensembles throughout the years and enjoy performing in musical theater productions. Some of my favorite roles include Cosette from Les Miserables and Lily from the Secret Garden. Read More
