I carefully watch and listen to my students' progress. If the material selection seems hard, I encourage him/her to take such material at a later time. Depending on the age of the student, I had students from those who looked up to me for guidance of music to those who set their own music goals. As a result, I adapted myself to the level and age of my students wishes and goals. Read More

I am passionate about teaching students to sing.Breaking skills down into component parts is essential so that each student feels their own independent success in each lesson. My teaching style gives students a sense of accomplishment and also encourages them to work to the best of their ability. This success is balanced with constructive feedback that motivates students for greater accomplishments. Read More

I have performed all over the globe for communities from San Francisco to New York to Ykaterinburg, Russia. My main instruments are bass, electric bass and French horn and have a background in all forms of improvised music as well as classical and orchestral repoertoire. My experience in the Air Force Band from 2006-2014 reinforced the skills necessary for professional musicianship that I cultivated at several fine music schools. Some famous venues I've played include Avery Fischer Hall, NY, and Shoreline Amphitheater, CA. Read More

I am widely sought-after as a clinician, adjudicator, masterclass teacher, and performer both as a modern and baroque flutist. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music currently working on my Doctorate in Musical Arts in Flute Performance with Dr. Mary Karen Clardy. When not performing or researching for my next upcoming project, I enjoy spending time taking care of my plants, watching Netflix, and raising awareness for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Read More

After a sufficient "warm up" period is achieved, ensemble is next. At the more basic level I try to focus on duets. If group work is indicated trio, quartet (or more) is possible. Doubling parts may be needed (depending on task). I like to use a battery operated keyboard as drum machine (metronome) for teaching too. For students looking to learn other genres (like jazz, blues, generic latin/bossa, etc.) the "drum machine" gives added accompaniment. Read More

For beginning students who are completely new to the world of music, I typically start them with exercises and theory found in Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. This introduces them to the foundations of the guitar, such as basic chords, chord progressions, and the musical alphabet. Once they have the necessary understanding of the fundamentals, I then like to find out what music the student is interested in learning and apply these foundations in musical pieces they are familiar with. I have performed with orchestral, Church, Jazz, Band and Chamber Music ensembles in Cleveland Ohio and Detroit,MI. I studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Linda Muhlert(Frumker). In the Southfield Symphony Orchestra, I performed next to Bryan Kennedy of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as 2nd horn on the Maurice Ravel Mother Goose Suite. I performed in a horn quartet with James McHard,AliceMchard and Frank Hussey. Read More
