When I began playing as a teenager, I practiced for up to 11 hours each day. There is no way that I could expect any of my students to possibly do that, but I do stress the importance of practicing often while keeping things fun. This introduces them to the foundations of the guitar, such as basic chords, chord progressions, and the musical alphabet. It will be a challenge, but what I can definitely recommend is the Amazing Slow Downer app that could really help the student transcribe note for note without ever having to replay so much at the original tempo, whereas you could slow down the recording in order to catch certain notes of the solo with the amazing slow downer.
