I am a passionate, lifelong, and experienced Indie Rock musician with a flare for hardcore music theory and expertise's ranging from Samba to the Avant-garde. I learned how to play as a teenager. I would play Rush records front to back as well as some of the other more drum driven records and perfect techniques to rise to the occasion. I was then involved in churches and contemporary, traditional, orchestral worship/Christmas/Celebratory services; meaning I was able play as many as 5 times a week in front of a large audience for many years. I teach classical technique that can be applied to any type or genreof music. I usually start with standard singing and breathing techniques. Then I will listen to a student's voice and determine their range and pick out a solo song based on their range, ability level, and the preferences of the student. I have over 20 years of experience playing brass and 17 years as a Bass Trombonist. I studied under Mexican Symphony Orchestra trombonist David Quintinar and have played with the Solano Symphony Orchestra, Benicia Ballet, Sacramento Youth Symphony, Pasadena Community Symphony, and countless smaller rock and jazz groups. With a BA in Music Composition from UCSB and a decade of composing and performing experience in Los Angeles, I continue my teaching journey with Musika Lessons and am excited to introduce new students to the power of brass! I've been playing flute for many many decades. I keep it fresh by continuing to learn more about music. It's an endless well of possibilities. I currently play with a jazz quartet. I've played flute since i was 9 years old and currently favor the alto flute, with its rich, lower tone. I play and teach both C flute (regular flute) and the alto flute.
