I come from a family with strong history in music, and music has played a vital role in my life and experience. All my life I have watched my parents, brothers, uncles, and aunts perform, whether simply at family gatherings or for larger venues. From age three I was exposed to musical performance through a few elementary piano lessons. At age 9 I began studying the violin, performing in small school groups and on my own. Read More
Instruments: Clarinet
My number one goal with lessons is to teach my students how incredible music is. Learning an instrument is so much easier when you have a passion for it, and that's what I try to show my students. I take my students' goals and develop a plan based around their future with the instrument. If a student wants to be competitive, I tailor my instruction towards being successful in auditions. Instruments: Piano Voice
My teaching experience involves both in the school classroom setting and outside in the private studio. I was given the opportunity to work as a vocal consultant at the middle school level in 2016 and coached the students one-on-one on their region competition pieces. The following year, I taught private voice lessons of which most were beginning students. My students came from zero knowledge to obtaining the ability to sing and sight-read, an understanding of the music theory, and could now say "I can sing"! Read More

When it comes to children, I believe that structure is necessary. So, I usually assign arrangements from a book based on their skill level. In most cases, I use Hal Leonard books and move chronologically from beginner and onward. As students progress, I tend to shift more towards fundamental skills, like how to properly pick certain songs, how scales work, and how to build relevant chords. Eventually, all of this will summate to being a fully capable guitarist. Read More

I like to move through each lesson at a pace that is comfortable for the students. I love to build lessons that students are going to be motivated for by building lessons for their specific need and interest. Instruments: Piano
I believe that making progress in an enjoyable way is what keeps people most motivated, and I do my best to make that happen. While students will find that their progress is influenced by their practice habits, it's also my goal to make clear what effective practice looks like, what kinds of questions they might ask to figure things out, and how to be patient with themselves. In short, my job as a teacher is to help students become more effective at figuring things out, while paying attention to their level of motivation/enjoyment. Read More
