Though I went on to pursue other studies, music has remained both a leading player in my life and the field in which I have the most raw talent and experience. Integrating the principles of moving the wrist, arm, and elbow fluidly ahead of the hand to produce even tone and clear voicing, has helped my students overcome technical challenges with greater ease. Perfection is not important to me. What is important is that my students strive and become the best that they can be. I want to instill in them the desire to reach their goals. That being said, I believe every student will work at their own pace. We will work together on goals that are realistic during the time frame. I would love to teach all ages, as I feel it is never too early or too late to learn about music. My students are encouraged to prepare for auditions and recitals as well as practicing music theory and composition for a deeper appreciation of the art. I've recently moved to the Bryan/College Station area to work at Texas AM as part of their Center for Teaching Excellence. I also play piano at Covenant Presbyterian Church! I received my PhD in Fine Arts from Texas Tech in 2018, having studied there with Dr. William Westney, performing recitals, accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists, teaching group classes and private lessons, as well as serving as pianist at multiple churches. For adults, lessons can be much more free form. If you have experience with guitar then we can go right ahead and find out where your skills lay and build from there. If you've just started, we can build from the bottom, starting with more fundamental skills and then progressing to more personally interesting music.
