My teaching style is based on love, patience, kindness and understanding. My priority is to create a safe space for students so that they can express themselves freely and authentically. The most important aspect is to make learning a fun, enjoyable and fulfilling process by understanding the student and listening to what they want to accomplish. Most of my playing experience came from growing up in the church and playing in various school and extracurricular music groups. Even if the child ends up not continuing as a pianist, my goal is that he/she will always be in contact with music, whether as a patron, composer, or playing another instrument. I have become a better teacher with age since I have picked up procedures and strategies which have proved effective in encouraging my students to make music.
